Sure. There is online messaging or you can reach out to the consultant to coordinate a phone or in person interview.

When I hire a consultant through GovFlex, when am I required to pay the invoice and when is the consultant paid? 2019-02-18T05:53:12+00:00

Upon completion and acceptance of the consultants’ work, clients are electronically invoiced for the cost of the consultant engagement.
The goal is to electronically pay the consultant for services within 2-3 business days of the company’s invoice payment to GovFlex.
*Eligible companies are also offered the additional flexibility of term payments (Net 15,30,45, 60 days) for an additional fee. (See our terms and conditions).

GovFlex invoice’s can be paid via credit card or ACH.

If we are not happy with the consultant, how is this handled? 2019-02-18T05:56:00+00:00

We encourage the company and consultant to track and discuss the progress of work engagements. If the company is not satisfied with the work, they should terminate the engagement. As stated in our TOS, because the consultants are not employees, we do not resolve any work performance issues that may arise between company and consultant.

If acceptable by the consultant, then yes, this is acceptable. In your project form, check the box for work required on-site.

Who do I get an invoice from? 2019-02-18T12:59:13+00:00

The system will automatically generate an electronic invoice from GovFlex to the company for project engagements. The invoice will itemize the cost of all completed consultant engagements, expenses, and fees.

Who handles the 1099? 2019-02-18T05:59:57+00:00

GovFlex. Because we pay the consultants, we are responsible for preparing the 1099 Misc forms for each consultant at the end of the year.

How does GovFlex verify the quality of the consultants? 2019-02-18T06:02:57+00:00

Customers who have worked with a consultant or who are familiar with a consultants’ expertise complete a survey. The survey rates each consultants’ performance on a scale of 1 through 5 where 5 is exceptional and can also include a written review of their performance. The survey results are available to you in GovFlex.

*Not all consultants in GovFlex have completed work and may not yet have any performance rating for this reason. This is particularly true of newly registered experts and consultants.

Can I use my company’s NDA or do I have to use yours? 2019-02-18T06:03:58+00:00

You can use your own NDA, however the GovFlex NDA is comprehensive and most clients prefer to use it.

We would like to do a one-day test for technical writers, how is that handled? 2019-02-18T06:06:57+00:00

When you create a project, you have the option to attach any document you like – including a one-day test. You can also communicate directly with the candidate consultant by email or phone to discuss your requirements. It is important to adhere to the non-circumvention rules detailed in our TOS.

Are the consultants in the marketplace employees of GovFlex? 2019-02-18T06:07:56+00:00

No. The consultants in the marketplace are professional, vetted, independent contractors that set their rates and choose which engagements they work.

Do you track who holds a security clearance? 2019-02-18T06:08:50+00:00

The profile has a field where consultants can indicate the level of security clearance and its status. We do not presently hold security clearances for consultants.

Can I hire a consultant in the marketplace as a W2 Employee? 2019-02-18T12:55:06+00:00

Yes. Companies may hire consultants from the marketplace for a fee, which is established in our terms of service.
